Sharing Adoption Stories

Tell Your Adoption Story

Adoption With Love is looking for families (any triad members) to share their adoption stories. Sharing adoption stories with others will:

  • Create awareness about open adoption
  • Remind others to keep a sense of humor during the process
  • Offer friendly advice and helpful tips
  • Normalize the range of emotions that are experienced
  • Provide hope and inspiration

Every adoption has its own unique story, and sharing yours could be a wonderful way to record your child's history and spread the word about this loving way to grow a family. There are many ways to tell your story. Besides posting your story here, you may want to write a novel, an essay, a memoir, or sum it all up in colorful lifebook full of pictures, maps, height charts, and other special family memories.

Getting your thoughts together isn't always as easy as you would think, and so, to help you through it, Adoptive Families Magazine (AF Online) has provided information to help you tell your adoption story. Enjoy the process!

Contact Susie at studiosusie@gmail.com if you would like to learn how to post your story at Adopting With Love.

Creating Life Books

Information is everything when you are adopted. A Life Book is a record of an adoptee's life that uses words, photos, your child's artwork, computer graphics, and memorabilia. Life Books help put all the information pieces together in a way that helps your child make sense of, and ultimately feel good, about his/her history.
